Ike - Photos from Lake Jackson

Here are a just a few of the photos we took before, during and after Ike.

The kids played while we waited for Ike at the Crocker's.

The adults played while we waited.

This was the sky in Tomball the night of the hurricane. It was really strange.

Jakeb took these when he and Tommy headed home the morning after. It was still raining.

This is Mimi and Pops house. Yes there is a house back there.

This is our house before clean up. Not bad, huh?

Our backyard

This is at A.P. Beutel Elementary School around the corner from us.

This is a house in our neighborhood. It was messed up.

This is in my parent's back yard. No power for them for a while!

This is a house down the street from my parents. Also messed up!

We drove from Lake Jackson to Brazoria and then around to Freeport and finally found ice in Freeport. FEMA was handing out ice and water. We were very grateful!

Our house after clean up. Tommy ended up hauling off our pile to a city dumpster closeby so now we are completely done. Our neighbors are mostly all back home and clean up is well underway. Several have come and cleaned up but left again to find a/c.

We are sleeping downstairs on mattresses with the windows open. It was very pleasant last night and is supposed to be in the mid 50's tonight. That will be so nice!

And, we just played with all of those vienna sausages (see previous post) cause we're sure not eating them!
